RELOCATING - YOUR FULL GUIDE FOR GLENEAGLES AND HORSESHOE BAY

Happy August – before writing this, we had to double-check that it was August! We hope you have all
been well and enjoying summer safely. For us, the last couple of months have been very busy in the real
estate world, as confidence grew significantly after the province moved into Phase 3 of the Restart Plan.

Aside from real estate, we have been enjoying time boating out to the Sunshine Coast and taking in all
the beauty it has to offer, and we highly recommend taking some time to get out there before winter
comes, as it is a great place to reset and relax.

There has been lots of movement in West Vancouver for real estate as of late, primarily in the
Gleneagles and Horseshoe Bay neighbourhood. Not surprising, though, as the two communities are truly
incredible places to live, start a family, or even retire as they are both within close proximity to some of
the best parks, schools, restaurants, and activities in the region.

Let us take a closer look at what makes these areas world-class.

GLENEAGLES
Known locally and nationally for its award-winning 9-hole golf course, lush greenery, and home to some
of the most iconic views of the Burrard Inlet – Gleneagles is an incredible place to live.

Ideal for families, the neighbourhood has one of the best elementary schools in Metro Vancouver,
Gleneagles Ch'axáý Elementary, which is located beautifully in the west part of the district. For kids K-
Grade 7, the school works closely with staff, students, and parents to create a challenging and
supporting environment with an incredible music and arts program and is always involved in the
community.

When it comes to food – you cannot go wrong. From local eateries to quaint coffee shops, there is so
much character with businesses in Gleneagles.

And who can forget the outdoor amenities – which is what makes the neighbourhood stand out.
Whytecliff Park and Whyte Islet Park are two incredible spots to bring the family or just go for a
walk/run. Known for their cliffs, you will probably see lots of wedding photos being taken as the
backdrop is truly iconic. In the summer, the beaches are not crazy packed like some in Vancouver, and as
a result, they are much cleaner, so that is definitely a plus!

Real estate wise you will find an abundance of family homes, where the average square footage of a
home is around 3,000 – 3,500 square feet, $1.5 – $6.5 million with most homes having at least 3
bedrooms.

A west coast oasis that we highly recommend you look into!

HORSESHOE BAY
A community of about 1,000 permanent residents, the village is known for its ferry terminal that brings
you to the Gulf Islands, Sunshine Coast, and also Nanaimo. Perched just north of Gleneagles, Horseshoe
Bay is a hidden gem in so many ways. The marina is out of a storybook as it has cozy restaurants like
Olive and Anchor (our personal favourite) and coffee shops right on the water where you can watch the
boats going in and out of the harbour.

Known for its curvature and “Horseshoe” look, the area has Sewell's Marina where you can rent boats to
explore Howe Sound or go on Sea Safari trips to see our B.C. wildlife (and maybe even some whales).

For the most part, the area is made up of gorgeous detached homes and duplexes that were built into
the landscape and offer incredible views and privacy. As the main commute port for travellers and
tourists, the area is also welcoming a new development called the Horseshoe Bay Development, and
with that will bring 158 residential units and new commercial opportunities to complement the area’s
private and serene feel.

These are highly sought after areas and offer so much for you and your family, and with the real estate
market continuing to boom, they are a great option to relocate to.

We thank you for taking the time to read this month’s blog, and if you or anyone you know is looking to
Buy or Sell, we would love to hear from you and show you the power of teamwork… the reputation for
results.

Stay safe, and we will talk next month!
